The 2015 International Summer Camp opened in NCNST

The 2015 International Summer Camp opened in National Center for Nanoscience and Technology (NCNST) on September 3, 2015. This is the first International Summer Camp held by NCNST and UCAS International Cooperation Department together. Students from more than 10 countries participated in the program with sponsorship from University of Chinese Academy of Science (UCAS).

On September 2, the students received a big welcome from the teachers and students of NCNST. On the opening ceremony of September 3, the director Dr. Yong Xie from International Cooperation Department of UCAS delivered a welcome address. In his speech, he made a brief introduction of UCAS. Relying on more than 100 institutes of Chinese Academy of Science, UCAS has been devoted to building an international platform for excellent researchers and students. Then Dr.Hossein Ganjidoust from Iran Embassy highly praised the contribution of UCAS and NCNST in promoting Sino-Iran cooperation in science and education. He spoke highly of the international summer camp and invited the students to visit Iran in the future. After that, Hüsnü Aslan and Sha He from Aarhus University and University of California, San Diego respectively made presentations about their research works on nanobiology and nanomaterials. Finally, professor Nader Mokhtarani from Iran made a conclusion speech of the ceremony. He predicted the future of nanomaterials, as well as the development between nanoscience and our life.

The Summer Camp will also include activities such as Chinese culture experience, academic exchanges and sightseeing. According to the schedule, students will visit the 2015 China Nano Conference, the Great Wall and the Palace of Museum in the coming days.

Since its foundation in 2003, NCNST has cultivated the most overseas students of UCAS. This International Summer Camp not only promotes Chinese culture, but also introduces UCAS and NCNST to the rest of the world. With the aim of cultivating graduates with global vision, we expect more excellent international students to join UCAS and NCNST.
