Professor Charles M. Lieber Talks to young Scientists
Becoming a Successful Scientist: From Undergraduate Studies to the Assistant Professorship and Beyond Professor Charles M. Lieber Explains his perspective to the Students
On Monday December 4, 2017 in the morning around 9 am, Multi-functional Hall on the second floor of south building of NCNST was full of students and young researchers. Looking at the white screen in front of them, every one was waiting to listen most waited talk of this week. In a while one of the famous scientists of the world was going to unravel the hidden secrets of becoming an outstanding scientist.

Professor Charles M Lieber was invited to talk on the topic. Holding the title of Joshua and Beth Friedman University Professor (the highest academic title for a professor at Harvard University) Professor Lieber is one of the most cited researchers in the world. His work on the fore front of Nano science and technology specially the synthesis of novel nanoscale materials and their applications in the field of nanoelectronics, nanocomputing, biological and chemical sensing, neurobiology and nanophotonic has been acknowledged widely and he has been given several prestigious international awards for his contributions.
Having in a discussion with students
In his talk he mentioned how can a student be a successful scientist in his careers. Starting from undergraduate studies to achieving a professor ship in a well reputed university, his talk was full of his personal experiences and motivational incidents. He shared the success stories of his several brilliant students with the audiences and described the important parameters of a student life that may affect his future in detail. It was so interested event that huge big hall was completely full even before his talk students were event standing in the hall silently listening what the professor was discussing. At the end of his talk several questions were asked by the audiences even during the lunch. Lot of students gather around the professor for an autograph. The event was finished with a group photo.
