I．CAS-TWAS President’s Fellowship

CAS-TWAS President’s Fellowship awardees will be free of tuition and admission fee waivers, and receive a monthly stipend (to cover accommodation and other living expenses, local travel expenses and health insurance) of RMB 7,000 or RMB 8,000. Awardees will be funded with the scholarship for 4 years.

Applicants must:

1.      Be maximum age of 35 years on 31 December 2016;

2.     Not take up other assignments during the period of his/her fellowship;

3.     Not hold Chinese citizenship;

Note:

1.     Applicants currently pursuing doctoral degrees at any university/institution in China are NOT eligible for this fellowship.

2.     Applicants CANNOT apply for both UCAS and USTC simultaneously.

3.     Applicants can ONLY apply to ONE supervisor from ONE institute/school in either UCAS or USTC.

(UCAS, means “The University of Chinese Academy of Sciences”; USTC, means the University of Science and Technology of China )

II. Chinese Government Scholarship

Chinese Government Scholarship awardees will be free of tuition and admission fee waivers, and receive a monthly stipend of RMB 3,500. In addition, NCNST will provide research assistantship for awardees considering their academic performances. The total amounts of monthly stipend will be no less than RMB 5000 for Doctoral students.

Awardees could be provided with insurance and accommodation (shared room), free of charges. For those who choose to live outside UCAS campus with UCAS approval in advance, they will be entitled to an accommodation allowance of RMB 1000/month.

Scholarship duration is 3 years.

III. UCAS Scholarship

Awardees would be exempted from a tuition fee of RMB 40,000/year.

UCAS provides monthly stipend of RMB 2,500 for students. In addition, NCNST provides research assistantship for awardees considering their academic performances. The total amounts of monthly stipend will be no less than RMB 3500. UCAS provides basic accommodation to awardees, free of charges.

The insurance premium is RMB 800/year, with RMB 400 for half-year term, and it would be deducted from the first stipend of each academic year.

Scholarship Duration is no longer than 36 months.
