My Expericence in NCNST—Anbu Mozhi(India)
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biotechnology and a master’s degree in nanotechnology from the University of Madras in India. I wanted to keep focusing on nanotechnology, as it is an emerging and potentially very successful approach to treat several diseases, so I applied for the Ph.D. program at NCNST. I was very excited and started my Ph.D. studies in September 2012. NCNST is a great scientific research institute and I was amazed by the laboratory facilities and the access to great technology.
My professor, Xing-Jie Liang has been a great inspiration and has encouraged me to come up with my own research ideas. He has motivated me to think for myself and construct a research plan based on my interests. My research interest is in developing cancer vaccines using nanotechnology platforms. I am very happy about the great communication I have had with my research group and my professor. Our group has weekly meetings where we can exchange our thoughts about research.
During my first few months at the center I have enrolled in Chinese classes and subject classes, which I have really enjoyed. My impression of Chinese students is that they are very kind, helpful and eager to assist foreign students. I am happy and lucky to be a student of NCNST.
