The first international cultural festival of 2012—A grand cultural banquet
National center for nanoscience and technology (‘NCNST’ henceforth) held the first international cultural festival successfully on June 20, 2012. The international students in the nanocenter from India, Pakistan, Cuba, France and Nigeria and Chinese students joined the festival. Besides, this meaningful activity attracted international students from various countries who are studying in other institutes and universities. There were more than 300 people in total attended the first international cultural festival.
The entire festival was divided into two parts. The first part was tasting foreign cuisines. Diverse kinds of food, such as French cheese, India curry puff, Pakistan milky tea and so on, cooked by the international students were provided for everyone to enjoy. In this vigorous summer, we have created a grand cultural banquet featuring internationalization and diversification. The second part was international cultural party. Professor Chen Wang, the director of NCNST, and Honghai Liu, the secretary of the Party committee, attended the party and presented a speech for it. The representatives from Indian embassy also took part in the party and expressed their aspiration of deepening the friendship between India and China. The performances by students from different countries were wonderful and eyes catching, including songs, dances, Chinese drama and exciting games. All the people, with different skin color, nationalities and cultures, enjoyed the happy night together. What a beautiful and meaningful festival it is!
The international cultural festival provided a platform for exchanging between international students and Chinese students and teachers, deepened our friendship and strengthened the cultural communication among countries.
The first international cultural festival was sponsored by NCNST and undertaken by international student department of Graduate Student Association. We are grateful for the support from related graduate student departments and India embassy!
