The 2024 Spring School was held in Dongguan, Guangdong, from 21st April to 26th April 2024 at Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory, under the support of the Institute of Physics, CAS and Songshan Lake Materials Laboratory.

The main contents include material-related Sciences and Engineering, Physics, Chemistry Engineering, and Technology as well as other cross-disciplinary courses in the advanced science and technology field.

Spending five days at the amazing research unit was such a wonderful experience for me. Attending lectures and visiting labs gave me invaluable knowledges in which I would not be able to get from my normal unit.

A Science Field Trip Journey

The trip took us to Dongguan, Guangdong, a location known for a manufacturing base, as well as being one of China's most important export centers. Machinery, electrical products and hightech items are its primary exports.

One of the highlights of this trip was the chance to meet new friends from different research institutes under the same university. Through group activities and explorations, we quickly bonded with fellow students. Visiting laboratories and other places helped us to connect on a personal level, fostering new friendships that extended beyond the trip itself. Meeting new friends from other research institutes is also beneficial as we could extend our networking.

Overall, our spring school field trip was a memorable experience that went beyond the classroom. It allowed us to make new friends and learned a lot of aspects that we could not get from our own institute.

Such trips are instrumental in shaping well-rounded individuals by providing exposure to new cultures, ideas, and people. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to more enriching experiences in the future. Thank you.
